Job description

We require a senior Data Migration Specialists to join the team with experience in the SAP tech stack applied to ERP/EAM processes. In addition, this role will provide guidance and support to the peers Data Migration Specialists in the team regarding embracing agile ways of working.

The Data Migration Specialists will work closely with the Delivery Lead withing the Enterprise Asset Management Functional Services team as well as Product Owners, Functional Specialists and Subject Matter Experts from the business ensuring an effective design, build, test cycle across sprints within the delivery team.

The contractor will be an SAP Data Migration Specialist working across multiple programs (e.g. Asset Works Management, Finance etc)

The Data Migration Specialist will need to: -

  • Work closely with a mixture of internal and external staff and ensure the effective alignment and co-ordination of data migration activities and solutions to an agreed schedule.
  • Navigate data challenges related to ETL from legacy systems to the new SAP S/4HANA & MDG systems, with an innate functional SAP understanding on how data needs to be loaded and represented in SAP.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage data related artefacts required for delivery across each phase of the program. This includes the management/creation or updating of multiple interdependent data migration design documents, build plans and conversion activities.
  • Take a lead role in managing data defects related to data migration activities, performing root cause analysis comparing source and target data, to reach an appropriate remediation or solution.
  • Communicate formally and informally through existing forums to stakeholders at all levels, including senior management.

Technical Requirements:

Duties of the position will include but are not limited to:

  • The development and management of data solution artefacts (e.g. Physical Data Model, Data Construct/Designs) and contribute to migration project plans and schedules.
  • Risk and issue management and escalation related to data defects.
  • Provide comprehensive support data defects resulting from migration activities.
  • Providing accurate and timely status reporting.
  • Develop succinct issues / options papers to facilitate decision-making by steering and executive committees.
  • Maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders and senior management.
  • Effectively deliver data preparation and migration activities to a successful outcome.
