About the role
We are seeking an AWS Cloud Platform Engineer to design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure solutions using Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The primary objective of this role is to support the Platform Owner by automating the provisioning and management of cloud infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools. This role focuses on delivering technical support to users and developing reusable architectural patterns that streamline and standardise platform adoption.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Develop, deploy, and oversee AWS platform services to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Create and manage reusable templates for infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Guarantee the reliability, scalability, and optimal performance of cloud services to meet business requirements and user demands.
- Work closely with cross-functional IT teams, including developers, system administrators, and database administrators, to ensure the effective deployment and management of cloud-based solutions.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience as a Cloud Engineer role specialising in AWS.
- Experience within a large corporate environment that has transitioned from predominantly on-premises infrastructure to cloud-native or hybrid cloud platforms is beneficial.
- Strong expertise in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) frameworks, with proven hands-on experience in automating and managing complex cloud environments.
- Familiarity with GitLab, HashiCorp, or Terraform is advantageous
- Exceptional communication abilities, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- In-depth knowledge of DevOps methodologies, CI/CD workflows, and associated toolchains.
