Job description

Our client, a global leader in the mining sector, is seeking an experienced FIFO Project Manager to join their Asset Management (Sustaining Capital) team.

In this role, you will be responsible for the successful execution of mining projects at a remote site. You will work closely with stakeholders, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental, safety, and legal standards throughout the project life-cycle.
  • Effectively communicate and manage expectations with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee procurement and resource allocation to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and develop robust contingency plans.
  • Champion and enforce strict health and safety protocols on-site.
  • Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Track project progress, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing projects within a trade or equivalent industry.
  • Willingness to travel to site per schedule.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver projects within budget and schedule.
  • Strong understanding of mining operations and engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications, including MS Suite and MS Project.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to effectively resolve complex challenges.
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management and cost control.
  • In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental best practices within the mining industry.
  • Thorough understanding of relevant WA legislation, including the Mining Act, Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations, and environmental requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
