THE ROLE
Our Client, one of Australia's Largest Local Governments is seeking an experienced ERP SAP S/4HANA Finance & BPC Project Manager to lead the finance-related workstreams of a large-scale SAP S/4HANA implementation. This role will be responsible for financial governance, stakeholder engagement, risk and issue management, and ensuring a structured and well-managed implementation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the Finance & Budget Planning & Consolidation (BPC) workstream, ensuring alignment with project governance and objectives.
- Manage project schedules, dependencies, risks, and financial reporting to ensure smooth implementation.
- Oversee financial data migration, reconciliation, and integration efforts.
- Collaborate with finance, procurement, IT, and ERP teams to ensure seamless system transition.
- Ensure compliance with financial governance, regulatory requirements, and audit controls.
- Develop and maintain finance project documentation, reports, and dashboards.
- Facilitate meetings, governance forums, and stakeholder workshops.
- Support business readiness and change management initiatives.
ABOUT YOU
- 5-10 years' experience in project management, particularly in finance, ERP, or large-scale ICT transformation projects.
- Strong expertise in financial governance, budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking within enterprise or government environments.
- Proven experience in Finance & BPC project governance and compliance.
- Ability to manage financial data migration and reconciliation, ensuring integrity in system transitions.
- Experience using MS Project, Jira, Project Online, and Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, SharePoint, Teams).
- High attention to detail with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Strong ability to work in cross-functional and virtual teams.
DESIRABLE
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI) modules and financial reporting structures.
- Knowledge of agile and waterfall project management methodologies.
- Familiarity with Atlassian Jira & Confluence for project tracking and governance.
