Job description

A Senior DevOps Engineer oversees the entire lifecycle of systems within the Platform Engineering domain, while also focusing on knowledge transfer and empowering other teams. They take the lead in solution design, working closely with Staff and Principal Engineers for support. Senior DevOps Engineers set the standard for efficient delivery and provide mentorship and guidance to their peers. They often become the go-to experts in their domain or for a specific technology.

Essential Criteria:

  • Over 6 years of software development experience, with exposure to diverse technology stacks, including .NET technologies (C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core).
  • Proven track record in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) roles, with a solid grasp of both software development and operations principles.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (with a preference for AWS).
  • Practical knowledge of implementing and utilizing monitoring and observability tools like AWS CloudWatch/CloudTrail, DataDog, or Splunk.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming and scripting languages, ideally C#, SQL, or PowerShell.
  • Experience developing and managing applications built on the Microsoft stack (.NET, MS SQL).
  • Familiar with CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Octopus Deploy.
  • Skilled in infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes).
  • Awareness of security best practices in infrastructure and application security.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
