Paxus are currently seeking multiple senior SAP Engineer/ Developers who have experience overseeing SAP software development projects, writing optimised code, and providing technical leadership to a team of software engineers.
Our client has several programs of work in progress which support the delivery of digital services to their clients.
This role will work closely with corporate and finance teams, along with senior executive to deliver client-centred solutions and provide technical capability to create a more efficient and resilient instance of the SAP system (ECC6 on prem).
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Performing custom development activities, including requirements gathering, application design, coding, testing, documentation, and unit testing.
- Writing custom ABAP code to develop new functionalities or enhance existing ones.
- Transforming business requirements into technical design documents, and programming tasks, and reviewing and approving design and programming deliverables.
- Triaging and resolving SAP support queries in a timely manner, providing support to end users, assisting with problem determination and resolution, and where possible, offering training.
- Developing reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms.
- Analysing and fixing issues in custom code or standard SAP Programs.
- Performing performance tuning of existing code to improve efficiency.
- Maintaining and improving SAP development tools, including applying technical updates in SAP, managing development processes, documenting, and testing new processes, and troubleshooting problems.
- Providing technical guidance to the team to design roles, permissions and privileges and profiles for application security based on business processes.
- Assisting with planning for future cloud migration and ERP Modernisation Strategic Project.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- 5+ years' experience in the development and implementation of SAP (ECC6.0 or higher) solutions
- Ability to troubleshoot performance problems within SAP ECC6. Experience with SAP financial modules is required.
- Ability to independently work with business areas to gather and analyse requirement. Ability to provide sound advice to business areas on best practice and solutions.
- Ability to provide testing use case scenarios and assist users with their testing of the new build.
- Ability to resolve time sensitive issues in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining strong internal and external customer relationships.
- Possess the ability to contribute to the development of new processes, effectively identify, analyse, and resolve highly complex technical issues.
Desirable criteria
- SAP FICO/ Accounting knowledge.
- Ability to teach and share technical knowledge.
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering or similar.
