Technical Writer - Cyber

Contract Duration: 8 months, with potential for 2 x 12-month extensions
Location: ACT
Security Clearance: Must have Baseline Security Clearance

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Technical Writer to join a high-performing team. In this role, you will research, develop, review, and publish actionable cyber security guidance and technical advice. You will contribute to key deliverables that support high-level strategic initiatives, working autonomously or as part of a team. Expertise in cyber security, particularly in areas such as Machine Learning, Network Security, Cloud, or Operational Technology, will be essential to your success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and develop technical cyber security guidance and reports tailored for a variety of audiences.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders through all phases of content development, including research, scoping, technical consultation, review, and publishing.
  • Create actionable cyber security strategies based on research into emerging technologies, vulnerabilities, and threats.
  • Provide expert advice on contemporary cyber security issues and best practices.
  • Support enterprise tasks, including document governance, briefings, and reporting requirements.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field such as Cyber Security, Information Technology, Cloud Computing, or Computer Science.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in cyber security.
  • Strong research, technical writing, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage workloads, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Information Security frameworks, maturity models, and standards related to cyber threat mitigation.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and leadership roles within technical environments.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience managing projects and working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with governance, risk, and compliance management practices.
