Our client, a prominent leader in the mining sector, is seeking an experienced Commvault Infrastructure Engineer for a 12M (renewable) contract with longevity. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Commvault backup and recovery solutions, along with a strong understanding of infrastructure management and system administration.
In this role, you will be responsible for the deployment, management, and optimization of Commvault-based solutions within the client's IT infrastructure, ensuring the security, availability, and reliability of critical data.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage Commvault backup and recovery solutions, ensuring high availability, scalability, and efficiency in data protection across the infrastructure.
- Manage and optimize VMware virtualized environments, ensuring seamless integration, optimal performance of virtual machines, and effective storage systems for backup and disaster recovery.
- Oversee and optimize Pure Storage environments, ensuring high-performance data storage for mission-critical applications and backup systems.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system configurations, backup procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines, to support operational excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that data protection solutions align with business objectives, providing ongoing support to safeguard critical data.
- Design, implement, and regularly test disaster recovery (DR) plans, ensuring the ability to recover critical systems and data in the event of an incident and validating the effectiveness of recovery processes.
- Implement and enforce security best practices for backup and recovery solutions, including data encryption, access control, and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), ensuring the protection of sensitive data.
Requirements:
- Proven experience with Commvault backup and recovery solutions, including architecture, deployment, and optimization in large-scale, complex IT environments.
- Expertise in managing VMware virtualized environments and VMware Horizon, with a focus on ensuring seamless backup integration and disaster recovery operations.
- Strong experience with Pure Storage environments, optimizing high-performance storage systems for backup and critical applications.
- Proficiency in managing endpoint platforms like Windows 10/11, iOS, macOS, and Android, with hands-on expertise using SCCM and Intune for effective device management.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 backup solutions, including backup and recovery strategies for Exchange Online, SharePoint, and OneDrive for Business.
- Strong grasp of security best practices related to backup systems, including data encryption, access control, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Experience in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to automate and streamline backup operations, monitoring, and reporting.
- Excellent technical documentation skills, with the ability to create and maintain clear, concise, and up-to-date backup configurations, recovery procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Commvault certifications (e.g., Commvault Certified Administrator or Professional) are a plus.
