Job description

The Cyber Security Risk Transformation Manager is accountable directly to the Client undertaking work with a high level of complexity or sensitivity that delivers quality outcomes across functions of the Client.

The position is an important thought leadership position within the Client and will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across wide-ranging activities of substantial depth involving significant detail. The role is required to provide thought leadership, control, planning, resource management and decision making for the team.

The Cyber Security Risk Transformation Manager is responsible for initiating, establishing and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Where required, they will represent and negotiate on behalf of the Client to advance the Client's interests in cross-agency, inter-jurisdictional and other forums.

This is a 18 months contracting role with a 1x18 months extension option. This role is open to ACT, VIC and WA. There is a hybrid working option available. This role is open to Australia Citizen with the ability to obtain NV1 Security Clearance.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Transforming agency cyber security risk management practices and policies to better enhance management of cyber security risk for the client, aligned to ISO 31000 and other better-practice risk frameworks
  • Continue the transformation for the client from a compliance-based security model to a better-practice cyber security risk model aligned to business objectives
  • Aligning cyber security risk management practices across risk identification, analysis and evaluation within the Client to enhance outcomes for the clients Participants
  • Advising the Client in how they can build and embed cyber resilience within people, process, technology and third parties through agile and innovative Risk Management, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity
  • Working with key stakeholders, design agency disaster recovery solutions for worst case cyber security scenarios, including working with technology vendors, documenting recovery processes, and testing/exercising recovery methods
  • Lead cyber resilience assessments; operational and service management processes; technical architecture, data resilience, testing and failover automation activities
  • Create and uplift the Risk Transformation & Resilience area and ensure it is a significant element of the client ICT and the agency as a whole
  • Lead and own process risk and resilience transformation and identify continuous improvement opportunities across service lines
  • Identify gaps in risk and resilience processes, technology, and tools, proposing best practices to streamline operations.
