Tech Lead - .NET/Azure API

Location: Brisbane + 50% WFH | Initial 6 month contract | Banking Environment

About the Role

We're looking for a Tech Lead with expertise in .NET Core, Azure, and API development to lead a high-performing team while remaining hands-on. You'll play a key role in designing, developing, and optimising cloud-based solutions, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and high-performing.

Tech Stack Summary

🔹 Backend: .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, Web APIs
🔹 Cloud: Microsoft Azure (App Services, Function Apps, Storage, Key Vault)
🔹 APIs & Security: OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, API Gateway
🔹 DevOps & CI/CD: Azure DevOps, CI/CD Pipelines, Infrastructure as Code
🔹 Architecture: Microservices, Event-driven systems, Cloud-native solutions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on Development & Leadership - Balance coding with mentoring and guiding the team.

  • Lead API & Backend Development - Design and maintain secure, scalable APIs in .NET Core & Azure.

  • Implement DevOps & CI/CD - Drive automation, CI/CD pipelines, and API security best practices.

  • Optimise Cloud Infrastructure - Work with Azure API Management, Function Apps, and Logic Apps.

  • Mentor & Guide Developers - Conduct code reviews and ensure high coding standards.

  • Collaborate Across Teams - Work with product owners, designers, and engineers to enhance system performance.

About You:

  • Brisbane Based
  • Experience in financial services is desirable
  • Strong backend development experience - .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, Web APIs
  • Cloud expertise - Microsoft Azure services (App Services, Function Apps, Storage, Key Vault)
  • API security & performance - Experience with OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and microservices architecture
  • DevOps mindset - Hands-on experience with CI/CD, Azure DevOps, and automation tools
  • Leadership ability - Proven experience mentoring developers and driving technical excellence
