Job description

THE ROLE:

Our QLD State Government client is currently seeeking an experienced ICT Data Modeller to join a high-impact program focused on delivering valuable data insights. This role requires strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to transform business requirements into well-defined data assets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consult with stakeholders and analyse data schemas to define data assets.
  • Transform business requirements and data schemas into reporting and analytics data assets.
  • Document data elements, lineage, quality rules, and maintain data dictionaries and metadata libraries.
  • Develop and maintain data modelling and design standards.
  • Reverse engineer physical data models and transform them into target models using architectural principles.
  • Represent data as conceptual, logical, and physical models using contemporary tools.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience as a Data Modeller or Data Analyst/Engineer within large Data & Analytics platforms.
  • Experience working in complex ICT programs.
  • Strong understanding of contemporary data & business intelligence technologies.
  • Knowledge of enterprise-level data governance and management.
  • Ability to define data definitions, including master data management requirements.
  • Expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and data analysis expertise.
  • Experience with data modelling software and tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data transformation, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for both business and technical stakeholders.
