THE ROLE
Our Brisbane Government client is currently seeking a highly skilled Spatial Analyst to join a dynamic team and play a pivotal role in digital mapping and city infrastructure visualisation initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on the Digitised Access and Inclusion (Mobility) Map and City Digital Infrastructure Map Visualisation projects, helping to create an accessible mobility map for customers and an integrated digital infrastructure dashboard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake mapping, GIS, spatial databases, and remote sensing technologies to collect, store, analyse, and present spatial data.
- Conduct data collection and storage activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Analyse spatial data and develop visualisations to support complex decision-making.
- Create and manage digital maps, incorporating layers of diverse data such as terrain, population density, and infrastructure.
- Assist in geospatial decision-making to enhance efficiency and urban planning outcomes.
- Integrate GIS solutions with other ICT systems for improved data management and accessibility.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in spatial analysis, GIS, or related disciplines.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in GIS and spatial analysis tools, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, or QGIS.
- Experience with regional ecosystems, vegetation mapping, and remote sensing imagery.
- Understanding of bushfire science and its application in land use planning.
- Proficiency in data management, analysis, and automated workflow scripting.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.
- Experience in project management and ability to work within deadlines.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with stakeholders and present spatial data findings.
- Knowledge of IoT, digital displays, and communication technologies as applied to smart city initiatives.
