Lead DevOps Engineer/ Technical Lead
- Long-term contract 12 months + 12months
- Open to ACT, NSW, QLD, VIC
- Hybrid working arrangement
About the role
We are looking for someone who has a passion and drive for working in a DevOps environment, working with the latest tools and technologies, and ensuring that all technical implementations are aligned to our defined architectural patterns.
The Technical lead will assist in the design, development and compliance of platforms and applications.
As a Technical lead, you will be responsible for providing technical direction across all inflight and ongoing projects. You will be comfortable working collaboratively with both technical and non-technical resources with a high aptitude for learning in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical advice and direction on software development best practices
- Provide input into the architectural design and development on projects.
- Provide advice and support across Technology Services Division programs, implementations and BAU.
- Design repeatable software and infrastructure patterns
- Investigate complex technical problems and engage stakeholders appropriately.
- Provide technical strategic advice to the Technology Services team and directorates
- Foster a positive culture within the Technology Services aligned with Agency values.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide leadership, support, and motivation to technical team members.
Experience and skills required
- Demonstrated 7+ years' experience as a Technical Lead, Lead DevOps engineer or similar role
- Demonstrated experience in: - designing and implementing modern cloud-based applications (AWS/Azure). - providing architectural and technical direction for software delivery teams. - implementing Infrastructure as code patterns (Terraform Enterprise) - implementing Infrastructure as Code (IAC) frameworks - building Kubernetes based applications. - high level conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to develop creative and innovative solutions to difficult and complex problems. - building CI/CD pipelines and automated processes (Gitlab)
- Experience in producing highly technical documentation.
- Understanding of DevOps operating models.
- Understanding of application development lifecycle
- Able to work in a fast-paced collaborative team, delivering robust scalable solutions.
Eligibility requirements
Due to the nature of the role Australian citizenship is mandatory for this role.
