Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Lead Network Architect to join their team. This is a 6 months contracting role with a 1x6 months extension option. This role is open to ACT, NSW, QLD. There is Hybrid working arrangement available.This is open to Australian Citizens with the ability to obtain a baseline clearance,

To be successful in this role you must have:
- Develop an Enterprise-Wide HLD for the clients future network, incorporating
- Cloud-native end-user computing (EUC)
- Hybrid gateway solutions (Azure Gateway)
- Zero Trust Network Architecture (ZTNA)
- Microsegmentation and least-privilege access principles
- Evaluate SD-WAN adoption for regional sites and determine feasibility.
- Design a structured transition plan, ensuring minimal disruption and security alignment.
- Create a comprehensive implementation roadmap, including:
- Overarching Agency Network Design
- Network segmentation strategy
- Bill of Materials (BoM)
- Security, compliance, and risk mitigation measures
- Integration with the clients existing infrastructure
- Engage with security, infrastructure, and cloud teams to ensure seamless adoption of Zero Trust principles.
- Provide strategic recommendations for network automation, performance monitoring, and long-term scalability.
- Collaborate with the clients Architectural Governance Group, ensuring future state design activities align with the clients technology roadmap.
- Lead a team of in-house and SDP Network Engineers for detailed designs, network installations, and acceptance testing.
- Identify project and BAU-level risks and issues, providing proactive solutions.
To be considered for this role you must have:
- 10+ years' experience in enterprise network architecture and strategy.
- Prior experience designing government networks.
- In-depth knowledge of SD-WAN, SASE, cloud-native networking (Azure, AWS, etc.).
- Experience designing hybrid gateways, modern VPN alternatives, and cloud-native EUC.
- Ability to develop HLDs, transition architectures, and phased implementation roadmaps.
- Experience with Zero Trust frameworks, including microsegmentation and identity-aware networking.
