Job description
Our client is a large government department based in Brisbane, and they currently have a need for a Network Security Engineer to join them on an initial 6 month contract + possible extensions. This role is based in Brisbane CBD + flexible WFH on offer.
Responsibilities:
- Experience with Cloud infrastructure and Operational tasks; including AWS and Azure
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code via tools such as Terraform, Gitlab, Ansible or equivalent
- Experience with Vulnerability management products and strategies
- Experience with Application whitelisting/management products and techniques
- Experience with Security management products, Endpoint and perimeter; e.g. Proofpoint, Carbon Black, Defender, Sentinel, Splunk, Palo Alto, F5
- Experience in hardening of user accounts in active directory environment.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience within a Network Security role within large and complex environments
- A sound understanding of TCP/IP and networking concepts
- Understanding of Cyber security frameworks; ASD Essential 8, IS18, ISO27001
- Understanding of global Cyber Security trends, attack vectors and techniques
- Demonstrated experience within complex ICT environments
- Strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to communicate security concepts to non-technical audiences both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a small operational team
