Database Administrator (Technical Support Team)


Location: Adelaide, South Australia (On-Site)
Employment Type: Initial 12-Month Contract (Extension Up to 24 Months)
Clearance Requirement: NV1 Minimum (NV2 and TSPV required during the contract)
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:
The Department of Defence is seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator to join the Technical Support Team in Adelaide. This critical role involves managing, maintaining, and automating database administration tasks in a secure and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and configure tools to automate database administration tasks.
  • Monitor performance statistics and generate detailed reports.
  • Troubleshoot complex database issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Perform routine installation, configuration, and reconfiguration of database systems and related products.
  • Provide support for a variety of Database Management Systems, including Microsoft SQL/Express, MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and standards required for Defence projects.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with Microsoft BackOffice products.
  • Proficiency in Red Hat Linux.
  • Strong understanding of database performance monitoring and optimization.

Requirements:

  • Minimum NV1 Security Clearance (Mandatory).
  • NV2, TSPV, and OSA clearances required during the contract.
  • Commitment to undergo the OSA process during the contract (Mandatory).
