About the Role
An experienced Senior Oracle Database Developer is required to support projects contributing to a major initiative. This role demands a highly skilled professional with strong Oracle database development expertise who can be immediately productive and provide leadership in Oracle development tasks.
The successful candidate will be responsible for hands-on Oracle database development, including data integrations, data cleansing, and enabling data migrations for various system solutions. This role is focused solely on Oracle database skills and does not require SQL Server expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support Oracle databases for applications and system integrations across various technologies (both on-premise and cloud-based).
- Develop data integrations using tables, views, and procedures.
- Perform data cleansing and data migration activities.
- Optimize database performance using SQL, PL/SQL, and database development tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and quickly become a productive team member.
- Ensure security best practices at the application, database, networking, and operating system levels.
- Lead, mentor, and support junior IT staff members.
Key Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience in Oracle database development, including designing, developing, and supporting databases for applications and integrations.
- Strong expertise in SQL and PL/SQL programming.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high productivity.
- In-depth understanding of security considerations for databases, integration platforms, and cloud technologies.
- Previous experience in mentoring and leading IT teams.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., a degree in Information Technology or a related field) or equivalent professional experience.
