Job description

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategic Oversight

  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure testing is scoped and prioritised based on risk.
  • Act as a key liaison between the business, technical teams, and the systems integration partner.
  • Champion a collaborative environment between business representatives and the test team.

Stakeholder Engagement & Facilitation

  • Ensure business leaders understand their testing obligations and allocate appropriate resources.
  • Support business testers to effectively define scope, document and execute test cases, and log defects across SIT, UAT, and PVT.

Governance & Risk Management

  • Ensure clarity around testing scope (applications, environments, data, scripts).
  • Monitor test governance and escalate risks related to readiness or deliverables.
  • Ensure quality standards are met in test plans, test summary reports, and associated artefacts.

Collaboration with System Integration Partner

  • Oversee testing activities managed by the partner, including test automation and performance testing.
  • Confirm adherence to governance processes such as go/no-go decisions and test sign-offs.

Key Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years in a Senior Test Manager, Program Test Manager, or Test Director role.
  • Proven ability to manage complex testing initiatives across multiple releases and streams.
  • Strong expertise in risk-based testing methodologies.
  • Deep understanding of testing lifecycle across SIT, UAT, and PVT.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with Jira Zephyr and Confluence.
  • Familiarity with formal test governance practices.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in IT, Test Management, or a related discipline.
  • ISTQB or other professional testing qualifications.
  • Agile certifications (e.g., CSM, SAFe).

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in the Higher Education sector.
  • Postgraduate qualifications or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working in Agile, cross-functional teams.
