Job description
Our client, a large government department, is requiring the skills of a Senior Automation DevOps Engineer. You will be largely responsible for optimizing automation workflows for performance, integrating feedback from CI/CD pipelines for iterative improvements. Most importantly you will have advanced experience with Cisco's secure network Services and NSO for network orchestration.
Key Responsibilities
- Strong experience in SDN, Yang data modelling with practical experience in software design and development
- Good understanding of Model-Driven DevOps (MDD) approach
- Prior experience with Network Automation (Cisco NSO, Ansible, Python)
- Ability to understand the business requirement and convert them to automation scripts using NSO, Python and Ansible scripts.
- Work with network engineering team to deliver network automations as per business needs.
- Hands on experience in one of the Public Cloud providers (Azure, AWS)
- Good understanding of agile methodology and ceremonies
Hands on experience of CI/CD/CT process, Git, and IaC - Cisco BPA (Business Process automation) workflow experience.
Desirable Requirements:
- Deep understanding of modern Service Provider architecture solutions
- Ability to translate customer requirements into enterprise/service provider network solutions
Expert level experience with network routing protocols such as BGP and ISIS - Strong experience in design and development of in customer centric approach with standard software development principles.
- Ability to develop and engineer a Service Provider network that will integrate with other service providers
- Ability to develop and negotiate IP peering agreements between service providers
- Experience with multiple networking operating systems to include IOS-XE, IOS-XR, NX-OS, FortiOS and JunOS
- Experience with a wide variety of network technologies and architectures
- Prior experience working in service provider networks.
