Job description

  • 12 Month contract + high potential to extend
  • Day rate around $1000 + Super depending on provided experience
  • Rotating roster - Full time working hours every week

One of Australia's largest financial institutions are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join in maintaining and optimising high-performance network infrastructure while working closely with customer engagement, network architecture, engineering, and operations teams.

Your Role & Responsibilities:

  • Lead troubleshooting efforts to diagnose and resolve complex network issues efficiently.
  • Engage in Major Incident Management, pinpointing and addressing network performance concerns.
  • Collaborate with IT teams, including Firewall, Cloud, and Security, to ensure seamless network operations.
  • Proactively monitor network alarms and manage incidents.
  • Conduct in-depth reviews of network changes and provide expert troubleshooting guidance.
  • Take part in an on-call support rotation to ensure continuous network stability.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience managing complex enterprise networks.
  • Strong expertise in Cisco Routing & Switching (BGP, OSPF, STP, NXOS, N9K).
  • Experience with incident management and change requests.
  • Experience in VxLAN EVPN and overlay networking.
  • Proven experience in large-scale network operations with periodic on-call responsibilities.
  • Hands-on experience with orchestration platforms is beneficial (NDFC, DCNM).
  • Certifications: CCNP is essential and must be valid
  • Understanding of ITIL processes and experience with ServiceNow is beneficial
  • Experience within the financial services industry is beneficial but not essential.
