Job description

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning

  • Develop and execute a strategic sourcing plan aligned with digital transformation objectives.
  • Provide expert procurement advice to executives, ensuring sourcing strategies align with reform outcomes.
  • Manage procurement documentation and ensure compliance with relevant government policies.
  • Offer strategic guidance on privacy, security, and compliance in sourcing activities.
  • Collaborate with legal, ICT, and procurement teams to integrate best practices into procurement processes.
  • Lead dispute resolution for contracted engagements, providing expert recommendations.
  • Develop and implement knowledge-sharing initiatives on sourcing and contract management.

Vendor Engagement

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work with industry providers to establish data-sharing agreements and procurement strategies.
  • Lead industry briefings and oversee probity services where required.
  • Identify and mitigate contract risk factors, including liability, indemnities, and warranties.
  • Provide regular progress reports to executives and key stakeholders.

Contract Management

  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, monitoring key performance indicators.
  • Provide strategic commercial advice on contract execution and risk mitigation.
  • Work closely with legal teams to develop contracts, agreements, and procurement frameworks.
  • Lead supplier contract management, ensuring obligations are met and risks are addressed.
  • Maintain open communication with stakeholders, managing project interdependencies.

Key Capabilities & Experience

  • Extensive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, and contract management for complex engagements.
  • Proven ability to drive sourcing strategies for large-scale digital programs.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, compliance, and legal considerations in procurement.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Experience in risk management and procurement decision-making.
  • Ability to balance strategic and operational priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to integrity, fairness, and values-based leadership.
  • Experience in government procurement and the early childhood sector is highly desirable.

Other Requirements

Must hold (or be eligible to obtain) a Working With Children Check for South Australia.
