Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Value Engineering Specialist to join a leading global team focused on optimising asset performance across the resources and mining sector. This exciting opportunity will allow you to leverage your engineering expertise and work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and implement performance improvements across the asset lifecycle.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading value engineering projects, exploring creative engineering solutions, and driving capital productivity initiatives. Your work will directly contribute to uncovering and capitalising on opportunities for capability and performance improvements, helping to enhance the overall efficiency and profitability of assets in the short, medium, and long term.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the identification, planning, and delivery of value engineering projects, focusing on capital productivity and value optimisation.
  • Drive innovative solutions and identify alternative engineering designs to maximise project value and efficiency.
  • Uncover capability and performance improvement opportunities across a broad asset base for both short- and long-term benefits.
  • Collaborate with operations and key stakeholders to define and address critical business problems, setting clear success measures and identifying potential challenges.
  • Evaluate and compare multiple solutions to complex challenges, presenting structured recommendations and insights to inform decision-making.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including business experts, data analysts, and engineers to optimise value opportunities across the asset lifecycle.

Key Skills required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field).
  • Significant experience in value engineering, capital productivity, or engineering design roles.
  • Proven track record of driving performance improvement initiatives and identifying value optimisation opportunities.
  • Demonstrated experience with AnyLogic
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to approach complex challenges in a structured and innovative manner.
  • Experience working in collaborative, multidisciplinary teams to deliver results.

Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
