About the Role:
Security Engineer with deep Azure Security expertise to join their National Criminal Intelligence System (NCIS) Infrastructure team. This is a pivotal role in delivering a whole-of-government federated information-sharing environment, providing real-time criminal intelligence and information across state, territory, and federal jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage security controls for Azure cloud infrastructure in line with ASD ISM guidelines.
- Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and remediation activities.
- Lead the integration of security practices into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- Automate security processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and ARM templates.
- Manage Azure security monitoring, incident response, and compliance with industry standards (ISO 27001, GDPR).
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure the secure deployment of cloud services.
- Provide training and raise security awareness within the organization
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated Azure Cloud experience.
- Proven experience in implementing and managing security controls per ASD ISM and other regulatory requirements.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, including security integration in CI/CD pipelines.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or similar.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like CLI/PowerShell, Python, or Bash for automation and security tasks.
- Experience in leading a team and providing direction on emerging technologies, detailed designs, and implementation.
Additional Requirements:
- BASELINE security clearance (minimum) and Employment Suitability Clearance.
- Willingness to undergo and obtain NV1 clearance if not already held.
- Complete Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) before commencement.
- As directed, sign a Deed of Confidentiality or Non-Disclosure Agreement.
