Position Overview
This position contributes to the development and integration of secure ICT solutions for the Royal Australian Navy's Fleet Information Environment (FIE) Modernisation project, aimed at enhancing operational capabilities through robust, secure, and integrated mission systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and transition cybersecurity solutions in line with industry best practices and security frameworks.
- Maintain and upgrade cyber tools in the Minerva system to ensure optimal operation of ICT services.
- Support the development, testing, and remediation of defects in cyber toolsets on Minerva systems.
- Create and maintain solution designs, standard operating procedures, as-built configurations, and other technical documents.
- Partner with the SEA technical team to integrate cyber tools and services across ICT infrastructure.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Security Technician in Defence projects.
- Proficiency with cyber toolsets in large-scale, geographically distributed environments.
- In-depth understanding of the Fortinet product suite.
- Strong grasp of security models like Zero Trust, tiered architectures, and security boundaries.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical abilities.
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Familiarity with the SEA Minerva system.
- Awareness of current security threats and effective mitigation strategies.
- Experience with frameworks such as the Australian Information Security Manual (ISM), NIST, and ISO.
- Ability to comply with the US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) due to handling export-controlled ICT products.
