Our client is a large government department, and they currently require a Cyber Solution Architect to join them on a 12 month contract with extensions and flexible WFH on offer.
The primary purpose of the Cyber Solution Architect role is to develop, implement, and enhance, cyber security architecture capabilities across the department.
This role has a specific focus on Data Protection capabilities, supported by a breadth of experience in operations, risk and compliance, and business process improvement.
The preferred architect will have experience in the design, implementation, and operationalisation of Data Protection discipline areas, including cryptography/Public Key Infrastructure, Data Loss Prevention, Data Rights Management, and Information Classification operationalisation.
Key accountabilities / Deliverables:
- Lead and role model customer focused behaviour by encouraging innovation and knowledge sharing.
- Model and lead performance excellence and values-based culture in line with department Leadership Blueprint.
- Lead strategic planning, initiative prioritisation, and investment planning, necessary to progress improvements to department digital strategy and enterprise security architecture.
- In cooperation with the other ICT governance and architecture professionals, develop the road maps for strategic Data Protection l improvements that achieve the maximum business benefit.
- Advise ISB's ICT solution architects, cyber security consultants, and other solution delivery stakeholders, on topics relating to Data Protection capability areas, and how these various staff can utilise the capabilities to reduce solution delivery costs and lower cyber security risk.
- Deliver using agile methodologies and lean methods, in addition to traditional models.
- Provide leadership and expertise to those initiatives that intend to improve cyber security controls.
- Maintain an adequate level of knowledge of the most relevant emerging cyber security threats, offensive and defensive technology and methodologies, and general IT industry trends, that enable the efficient development of Data Protection capabilities.
- Contribute to cyber security risk assessments and cyber security incident response, when requested.
- Contribute cyber security technical expertise to ISB multi-disciplinary, cross-functional project teams and maintain effective working relationships with the team participants, as required.
- Produce concise, targeted, and useful, cyber security architecture artefacts and other technical documentation, as directed and on schedule.
- Operate in accordance with legislative requirements, and the procedural requirements relating to procurement requirements.
- Lead performance excellence by setting clear direction, performance standards and expectations for individuals and teams.
- Give and receive regular feedback to enable performance to be improved and ensure that individuals obtain the development and the support that they need to perform to the best of their ability.
- Foster cooperative and productive working relationships with department stakeholders, internal and external audit organisations, the Corporate Risk and Insurance unit, and Council ICT employees.
