Job description

Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join their Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane teams. This is a 12 month contract with 1x12 month extension option. This role is open for Australian citizens with the ability to obtain a Baseline clearance.

  • Hybrid role ( 3 days in office and 2 days WFH).

As a DevOps Engineer you will manage RESTful APIs, optimizing application performance, and ensuring code quality through best practices and testing.

To be successful in this role you must:

  • Design and implement RESTful APIs to support various application functionalities.
  • Develop and maintain real-time dashboards for monitoring application performance and user metrics.
  • Identify issues and/or errors and support the resolution of any technical problems that arise during iterations.
  • Define a plan to optimize Scheme Digital Platforms application performance.
  • Support designing, building, testing, and maintaining the continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) process.
  • Support DevOps initiatives such as continuous integration, continuous delivery, code deployment and system automation, ultimately ensuring that complex systems are operating optimally.

To be considered for this role you must

  • Experience with GitLab build/deployment pipelines creation, maintenance and monitoring.
  • At least 2 to 3 years' experience a role involving development of full stack applications on NodeJs using frameworks such as React/Vue/Next.js
  • Develop and maintain applications and scripts that reduces development chores
  • Implement APIs to support various application functionalities and integrate with ALM tooling such as Gitlab, Jira, Microsoft Teams
  • Develop and maintain real-time dashboards for monitoring application performance and user metrics.
  • Demonstrate effective communication for collaborating with team members and stakeholders
