Job description
This NSW government department manages the state's principal financial assets and liabilities. The successful incumbent will advise on performance and financial management policies. This role is within the Financial Accounting team, managing financial reporting/financial control.
The role of the Finance Manager is tax reporting, preparations of annual financial statement, accounting, reporting as well as operational work like approving payroll, reconciliations and complex transactions.
Key Accountabilities
- Tax reporting and preparations of annual financial statement
- Accounting, reporting and operational work
- Managing a team and being "hands on".
- Provide high level strategic, tactical and operational financial advice
- Provide high quality, timely reporting and analysis to support decision making, statutory obligations, satisfy queries and manage risk
- Responsible for the monthly and yearly accounting
- Provide accurate and timely responses to any queries from the Total State Financial Reporting.
Desirable Accountabilities
- Professional accounting qualifications; CAANZ or CPAA or equivalent
- Extensive skills and experience in financial accounting including completion of statutory reporting, risk governance, fixed assets and banking controls, accounts payable and operations.
