Job description

Job Overview:

Our client, a leading company in the mining sector, is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer for an exciting new project. This 3-month contract offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, including Cisco UCS, Domain Controllers, VMware, Dell or Pure Storage, CommVault, and Windows Server.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Management:Design, implement, and maintain systems involving Cisco UCS, Dell Storage, VMware, and CommVault.
  • Server Administration:Configure and manage Windows Server (2012/2016/2019+) to ensure high availability.
  • Domain Controllers:Manage Domain Controllers and Active Directory, handling upgrades, patches, and troubleshooting.
  • Virtualization:Oversee VMware environments, ensuring efficient resource allocation and performance.
  • Backup & Recovery:Implement CommVault solutions for data protection and disaster recovery.
  • Networking:Collaborate with network teams to maintain secure, scalable infrastructure.
  • Cloud Integration:Support cloud initiatives, integrating AWS or Azure with on-premise infrastructure.
  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting:Monitor performance and address infrastructure issues to ensure uptime.
  • Security & Compliance:Ensure infrastructure meets security standards and compliance requirements.
  • Project Leadership:Lead infrastructure projects from design to implementation, ensuring deadlines are met.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure.
  • Proven experience with:
    • Cisco UCS server infrastructure
    • Domain Controllers and Active Directory
    • VMware virtualization
    • Dell Storage (SAN/NAS)
    • CommVault backup and recovery
    • Windows Server (2012/2016/2019+)
  • Strong knowledge of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs).
  • Experience troubleshooting and optimizing network and server performance.
