Job description

Our mining client, is seeking a talented Network Communications Engineer to join their growing team on an initial 12-month contract with opportunity for extensions.

You'll play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining their network communications solutions to ensure seamless operations and security. Experience in radio communications, and network security is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Network Architecture and Implementation: Design, build, and enhance network infrastructure using industry-leading technologies like Cisco, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, and F5.
  • Device Configuration and Troubleshooting: Configure and maintain Cisco Nexus, Catalyst, and IOS/XR devices, resolving network issues efficiently.
  • Network Security: Implement and manage robust security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs, to protect network assets.
  • Network Optimization: Optimize network performance, conduct thorough troubleshooting, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Networking Fundamentals: Strong grasp of networking concepts, including routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and switching protocols (VLAN, STP, MST, VPC, VDC).
  • Cisco Expertise: Hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus, Catalyst, and IOS/XR devices.
  • Data Centre Networking: Proficiency in data centre technologies like VXLAN, EVPN, and Spine-Leaf architectures.
  • Network Security: Knowledge of security solutions such as IDS/IPS, AAA, RBAC, Zero Trust Access, and encryption.
  • Emerging Technologies: Familiarity with SD-WAN, F5 LTM, Cisco ISE, and SIEM solutions.
  • Mining/Rail experience is highly preferred.
