Program Manager

A major Australian bank is undertaking a large-scale transformation of its technology ecosystem - and they're seeking a high-impact Program Manager to lead one of the most complex and business-critical delivery streams. This role will see you own the delivery of enterprise-level application builds and integrations across a broad tech landscape, coordinating deeply technical teams, managing external vendors, and ensuring critical applications are ready for test and deployment.

While this role spans infrastructure and testing environments, the emphasis is on leading the build and integration of large-scale applications, ensuring their readiness across various test lanes including SIT, performance, and migration phases. This is a delivery-first role - you'll be hands-on in managing the work, aligning cross-functional teams, and steering the stream to success under tight deadlines and high visibility.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end delivery of large-scale application build and integration streams within a major transformation program
• Lead and coordinate multiple project managers, business analysts, and technical teams across infrastructure, application, and testing domains
• Oversee the design, build, and deployment of applications across various technology stacks, ensuring readiness for SIT, E2E, and performance testing
• Collaborate closely with internal squads and third-party vendors to manage dependencies, align milestones, and resolve delivery risks
• Deliver consistent reporting to senior stakeholders, including program status, risks, issues, and resource planning
• Provide technical oversight - able to interpret architecture diagrams, understand environment requirements, and engage confidently in infrastructure/application discussions
• Ensure testing environments are correctly structured, maintained, and integrated to support multi-phase testing cycles
• Operate with urgency in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, ensuring outcomes are delivered on time and to expectation

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Program Manager leading complex application build and infrastructure uplift initiatives within a large enterprise or banking environment
• Strong understanding of application lifecycle, infrastructure components, and test environment setup for enterprise-grade delivery
• Ability to work across business and technical domains, translating between high-level strategy and on-the-ground delivery execution
• Experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams, including internal teams and vendor engagements
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including reporting to senior executives
• Comfort navigating technical environments and leading conversations with architects, engineers, and SMEs
• Prior experience delivering within high-visibility, high-pressure programs with tight timelines and moving parts
• Strong preference for candidates with experience in large banks or financial services institutions
