Job description

As the Project Manager you will be responsible for leading and managing projects within the Department. This role will see you reduce paper heavy processes via digitisation. This involves working within a structured project management framework to ensure the successful delivery of initiatives that support the agency's objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and deliver projects within scope, time, cost, and quality constraints.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans, risk registers, and status reports.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary project teams and coordinate resources effectively.
  • Engage with stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment with project goals.
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Provide regular reporting on project progress and financials to senior management.
  • Ensure projects comply with government policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement project governance processes to maintain accountability and oversight.
  • Manage external vendors and contracts as needed.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience managing projects in a government or highly regulated environment, specifically digitisation projects/ programs.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 or PMBOK.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and delivering complex initiatives.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of Queensland Government project governance frameworks is desirable.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in project management, business, or a related field.
  • Certification in PRINCE2, Agile, or PMP preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in the public sector.
