Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Project Manager to join our client's team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing major projects that are critical to the development and enhancement of public services and infrastructure. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact and contribute to the future growth of the department.



Essential Skills and Experience

  • Significant experience in project management with emphasis on strong project governance, planning and control, risk and issue management.
  • Strong leadership and change management skills with experience in end to end delivery of significant business system and complex business change projects.
  • Excellent stakeholder management experience, in particular the ability to negotiate with internal and external stakeholders across business areas, functions and the organisation with a focus on achieving high quality outcomes.
  • Proven ability to manage end to end commercial engagements with contracted vendors and deliver strong innovative outcomes in a complex resourcing environment
  • Demonstrated experience in building, managing and leading high performance teams to deliver high quality, customer focused outcomes.
  • Proven ability to effectively support change management to integrate new ICT capabilities with organisational transformation needs.
  • High level written and verbal communication.
  • High resilience and self-discipline.
  • Knowledge and utilisation of Prince2 project management methodology is preferred.

  • High level social and written skills with ability to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders, including ability to translate complex analytical and technical information into clear and meaningful terms.
  • Ability to work in a large team environment with members of diverse cultures and backgrounds.

  • Disciplined and accountable for supporting and maintaining work products.
  • Behaves in a respectful and professional manner, maintaining high integrity and transparency when delivering work.

  • Promotes teamwork and collaboration by engaging stakeholders and team members.

Additional Requirement:

  • Must be willing to relocate to Darwin.
