Requirement Overview
We are seeking a Senior Unix Systems Specialist to provide general Unix server and storage administration support. The role involves backfilling existing resources while contributing to ongoing projects and operations.
Based within the Server and Storage Services team and reporting to the Server & Storage Lead, this role will primarily focus on daily queue support and other Windows/Linux specialist tasks.
Key Responsibilities and Skills
- Strong Unix/Linux Server Administration skills.
- Extensive experience with NFS.
- Expertise in Unix file systems and general file/directory layout.
- Proven experience with large-scale deployments of Redhat Linux.
Key Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications in Information Technology or Computer Science, with extensive relevant experience; or
- Extensive relevant experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Redhat Satellite/Ansible.
- Familiarity with Redhat Directory Server (LDAP).
- Previous experience in the higher education sector will be highly regarded.
