Solution Architect - ICT Transformation Contract
Contribute to a major digital initiative within a high-profile regional government setting. Our Townsville, North Queensland Client is seeking a skilled Solution Architect to support a key ICT transformation project. This role is ideal for a senior consultant who thrives in complex environments and enjoys shaping enterprise-wide digital solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and document robust solution architectures aligned with business and ICT strategies
- Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards, governance frameworks, and digital strategy
- Provide expert technical leadership across project delivery and stakeholder engagement
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to implement fit-for-purpose solutions
- Identify opportunities for application rationalisation and architectural optimisation
- Assess solution feasibility, support requirements definition, and provide architecture advisory
- Uphold information security, risk, and recordkeeping practices in solution delivery
- Participate in Application Portfolio Management and promote architectural best practices
Skills & Experience Required
- 5+ years' experience as a Solution or Enterprise Architect in complex environments
- Proven ability to produce architecture artefacts for technical and business stakeholders
- Deep knowledge of cloud, data, application, and infrastructure architecture
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all organisational levels
- Experience working within government or regulated industries (highly desirable)
- Familiarity with QGEA frameworks and TOGAF certification (advantageous)
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with practical, hands-on delivery
