Job description

Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced Systems Analyst to join their Canberra, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne team. This is a 18 months contract with 1x18 month extension option. The role is open for Australian citizens.

  • 18 month contract with 1x18 month extension option.
  • Open for Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne.
  • Hybrid ( 3 days from office and 2 days WFH).
  • Paxus pays weekly.

As a System Analyst you will assist in the delivery of diverse and varied projects, centred around a large-scale digital transformation that is currently underway. A key to your role will be ensuring that requirements are captured and supporting the team to document processes and technical detail.

Building relationships and business acumen are two of your key skills that you use to support the team in delivering positive outcomes for the agency.

To be successful in this role you must:

  • Work closely with program, business and technical stakeholders to effectively discover, define, validate, prioritise and continuously manage requirements that translate identified needs into outcomes which align with the agency's architectural principles and strategies.
  • Synthesise business and technical requirements/concepts and present them in simple terms. Whilst also suggesting changes/enhancements to management using evidence to support your recommendations.
  • Work with both traditional and Agile delivery practices including backlog creation / refinement and associated requirements gathering, data discovery and analysis.
  • Facilitate workshops and perform business analysis activities including business process modelling, business and solution requirements lifecycle management, and data modelling.
  • Assist the technical delivery manager and the team to translate requirements into project deliverables and tasks. Also work effectively with dynamic technical teams, business stakeholders and 3rd party providers
  • Assist team mates to effectively document the systems and solutions that the team develops, delivers and maintains.
  • Work with various business units to support and maintain new and existing customer data and system integrations.

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • Demonstrated experience of at least 3 years, working in a similar role performing business analysis activities including workshop facilitation, supporting the successful delivery of high-impact and high-value initiatives that lead to meaningful change.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating with technical SME's to define and obtain an understanding of business needs, technical constraints, and technical concepts and present them in simple terms.
  • The ability and desire to quickly learn and understand the technical details of a proposed solution to a level that facilitates effective engagement with the technical teams and the delivery of accurate documentation.
  • Proven experience, of at least 3 years, in a role relating to cloud platforms including delivery of new services.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively liaise and keep stakeholders informed and engaged, both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, cultivating productive working relationships across multiple projects and business areas
  • A proven ability to use initiative and self-drive to meet demanding deadlines. Self-managed, adaptable and quick to learn.
  • Experience in working with diverse project, in-house development, and vendor teams to deploy complex, integrated technologies and effect business change.
  • Demonstrated experience and flexibility to adapt to agile and waterfall processes to deliver projects.
