About the role
We are seeking Microsoft 365 (M365) and Windows 365 (W365) Engineers be part of our Productivity and Collaboration team. In these roles, you will be part of the team responsible for the design and implementation of the M365 and W365 environments.
We have three core priorities: building best-in-class people to support department's efforts, underpinned by best-in-class global platforms, supported by best-in-class sovereign capabilities.
These roles will be part of larger project teams to develop solutions and deliver capability. These are new roles in a growing Branch, and you will be instrumental in helping to build both human and technical capabilities to achieve the department's mission.

You will be part of a team of ICT professionals delivering complex projects across key Digital domains.
These roles will provide technical expertise, in a matrixed construct, as teams and individuals are embedded into projects as needed. We commit to providing additional professionalisation for the right candidates so you can continue to grow and develop your career. We will also provide mentorship and coaching to ensure you reach your potential.
Skills and experience
- Experience and/or knowledge in the design and implementation of the M365 suite of products and services (including Exchange Online, Microsoft Purview, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business and Microsoft Teams), W365 virtual desktops, Azure Virtual Desktop and relevant Information Security Manual (ISM) controls
- Experience and/or knowledge with Microsoft InTune for Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Mobile Application Management (MAM), ensuring access to M365 and W365 resources
- The ability to design and implement W365 Cloud PCs to deliver virtual desktop experiences across the organisation
- The ability to configure and secure M365 security features like Microsoft Defender, Conditional Access Policies, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Azure Information Protection (AIP)
- The experience to design, build and enhance changes to these platforms to maintain simplicity of design through configuration, while minimising customisation
- Familiarity with Teams Voice and Microsoft 365 Phone System for integrated telephony solutions;
- Experience working as part of cross-functional teams to integrate M365/W365 services with existing systems and manage third-party tools and applications to achieve outcomes.
Eligibility
Australian citizens with ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance at "Negative Vetting Level 1".
