Job description
Our client is a large government department and they are in need of a Senior Business Analyst to join them on a contract through to June 2025 + extensions on offer. This role is based in Brisbane CBD + some WFH on offer.
Background:
The department are undertaking the following activities and this role will be responsible for analysing and development of requirements, working with other team members and a dedicated developer to complete the work.
- Replace an existing complex data warehouse system, that draws data from a Power Platform system, with a simpler Azure synapse-based system and a .Net API.
- Redevelop an old application to use modern programming languages and
- Update a tool that consolidates and transforms event information from various sources, such as Case Management systems, and integrates with several consumer systems.
Responsibilities:
As the Senior Business Analyst, you will:
- Lead and manage business and systems analysis activities for the activities listed
- Identify, develop and review requirements specifications (ranging from business, functional, non- functional, user, and implementation requirements) for ICT enabled initiatives, managed activities or
- Establish relationships, collaborate with, consult and influence both business and technical stakeholders to effectively discover, define, validate, prioritise and continuously manage requirements that translate into business benefits.
- Apply appropriate business analysis frameworks and be able to promote and provide advice on use of appropriate techniques, methodologies, and tools, preferably aligned with Business Analysis Body of
- Identify project delivery issues and risks, assist with mitigation strategies, and escalate where
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and mentor fellow team
Qualifications Required:
Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications required, the following qualifications and certifications or experiences would be highly regarded:
- BABOK Certification
- Experience in BPMN
- Experience working with integration of information from/to differing platforms (Microsoft, Oracle)
- Knowledge of Microsoft technologies would be advantageous and highly
