Job description

Prefers candidates based in Brisbane but is open to those from Sydney or Melbourne as well.We will begin screening candidates after the 6th of January.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Test Lead who oversees the technical guidance and ensures the quality of test activities within a designated Program, Project(s), and/or Domain (a business unit team managing a group of applications) and collaborates closely with both business and technical stakeholders. When necessary, they manage testing efforts across various projects and domains, particularly for high-risk or complex releases. They lead by example, providing hands-on leadership in all testing activities, which may include directly executing tests during delivery.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with management to establish comprehensive testing governance artifacts for the domain, program, project, and/or initiative.
  • Lead, coach, develop, motivate, and manage the testing team to ensure alignment with team goals and objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, acting as the primary technical testing point of contact for the assigned domain.
  • Develop, share, and maintain test strategies, approaches, plans, and summaries, ensuring reviews and approvals are in place.
  • Provide testing estimates and coordinate both manual and automated testing execution.
  • Track and report on progress, anomalies, risks, and issues related to the overall project.
  • Maintain traceability from test cases back to requirements, ensuring full documentation.
  • Ensure testing activities meet quality standards and approve releases to production with confidence.
  • Take ownership of regression test suite improvements and contribute to the development and maintenance of the automation framework(s).
  • Execute test procedures and scripts as needed, adhering to squad and release schedules.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive test coverage and ensure traceability to all relevant artifacts.
  • Monitor and update the test automation suite regularly to maintain test coverage.
  • Work collaboratively with peers to promote knowledge sharing and consistent documentation of processes across the division.
  • Adhere to testing policies and procedures, offering feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Support the professional development and career growth of individual team members in collaboration with Delivery Managers and Managers.
  • Contribute to the automation roadmap and articulate the vision and strategy for the relevant platform(s) where applicable.


Key Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree or a combination of relevant education, experience, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proven experience in test leadership and strong technical leadership.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
  • In-depth experience and expertise in functional and technical testing, including developing testing estimates, strategies, plans, and methodologies.
  • Solid experience working with Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, motivate, and guide team members in best testing practices.
  • Proven ability to resolve conflicts between requirements and deliverables effectively.
  • Strong experience in managing multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously.
  • Proven track record in effectively communicating with business stakeholders, vendors, technical experts, and management.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Cloud Technologies, BDD, CI/CD, Test Automation, and Non-Functional Testing.
  • Experience in fostering a quality, client-focused service delivery culture within a large corporate environment.
  • Familiarity with the superannuation or financial services industry.
