Job description

Our client, a globally recognised resource company, are seeking a dedicated Industrial Communication Specialist to join their team in supporting critical underground operations.

This role involves monitoring, managing, and optimizing the performance of our industrial network infrastructure, ensuring uninterrupted communications for 90% of underground operations.

Key Details:

  • FIFO Schedule: This role operates on a FIFO basis (7/7), with Thursday as the designated fly-out day. Shifts are 12 hours daily.
  • Contract Terms: This is an initial 3-month contract, with potential for extension or transition to a permanent position.
  • Required Expertise: In Industrial Networks, with a solid foundation in long-term evolution (LTE), digital radio, fixed plant systems, wireless and backhaul technologies, and edge computing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performance Monitoring & Management: Ensure high availability and optimal operation of network infrastructure across all industrial network components. Actively manage capacity to support underground operations.

  • Issue Resolution & Root Cause Analysis: Engage in root cause analysis activities to identify and implement solutions for infrastructure performance issues. Resolve incidents to sustain operational standards.

  • Upgrades & Enhancements: Conduct installations, testing, and upgrades to enhance the functionality of existing infrastructure assets, adapting to evolving technical and operational needs.

  • Asset Management: Oversee infrastructure assets and perform necessary upgrades to maintain a reliable and modern network environment.
