Job description

  • Long term contract - Multi year portfolio

  • Must be able/willing to work onsite 4 days a week
  • Work within the Project Management Office

Our client is seeking an experienced Resource Planning Specialist to engage with our delivery partners on a multi-year portfolio of work contributing to the establishment of the organisation.

Falling within the Project Management Office and reporting to the IT PMO Manager, this role will maintain significant working relationships with staff, vendors and and the System Integration Partners.

Key Strategic Requirements:

* Leverage strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple internal and external business areas, including Release Managers, Resource Managers, Program and Project Managers, to identify demand for technical capability and enable decision-making around resource allocation.
* Conduct workforce analysis to align capacity planning with delivery of current project requirements, and scope future needs based on project pipelines, historical data, upcoming program demands, and organisational goals.
* Track resource utilisation, providing regular updates and reports to senior stakeholders.
* Identify improvement opportunities and provide recommendations to optimise workforce allocation and operational effectiveness.


Key Operational Requirements:

* Develop and maintain a master workforce schedule (MS Project / PowerBI), for named resources across the greater IT portfolio, to effectively manage and administer capability and capacity.
* Collaborate with multiple Release Managers, Program and Project Managers to scope and schedule resource requirements.
* Work closely with Resource Managers on recruitment activities, to ensure timely fulfillment of resourcing requirements (e.g. developing resource briefs, organising interviews, establish resource augmentation contracts).

Experience/skills needed:

  • Extensive and proven Master workforce schedule (MS Project / PowerBI) experience.
  • PMP, CAPM is highly desirable.
  • Microsoft Project professional certifications highly desirable.
