Data and Reporting Analyst

This is an integral role for the Risk and Control team that combines the strategic establishment of the data and reporting function with hands on implementation. The role is responsible for establishing, capturing, monitoring, and reporting operational risk data which will be consumed for analytics and to aid the business in data driven decision making.

Responsibilities:

Establishing the data and reporting function

  • Design and implement the data management and reporting infrastructure for the risk and control function (E.g. Governance protocols, standard operating procedures for data fields, collection, reporting)

Data and collection

  • Oversee and hands on support of data collection across teams ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Leveraging GRC and reporting tools to integrate information from multiple sources into a single database, utilising existing enterprise solutions.

Reporting and insights

  • Design and deliver regular and ad hoc operational risk reporting for identified stakeholders and forums - dashboards, visual representations, presentations
  • Analyse data to provide actionable insights and recommendations that drive decision-making
  • Monitor trends for risks and opportunities

Stakeholder engagement and collaboration

  • Establish a network of effective relationships with internal stakeholders within the Risk and Control team to support the identification of insights and trends, understand stakeholder issues, and resolve data problems.
  • Liaison between IT/ technical teams and Risk & Control teams for reporting requirements
  • Train stakeholders and contributors on data processes, tools and reporting

About the candidate:
You will demonstrate a strong passion for data and reporting, coupled with a solid understanding of risk and compliance. You possess the ability to think strategically when designing new reporting systems and are equally skilled at taking a hands-on approach to implementing them.

  • Bachelor's degree holder in Business Management, Data Analytics, Information Technology or related field. Circa 3 to 5 years' experience in data management, business intelligence, or reporting with a track record in implementing data systems and frameworks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data capture and entry.
  • Strong engagement skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues and senior leaders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Professional, deadline-driven, able to work autonomously with a proactive approach.
  • Willingness to continuously improve, learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
  • Hands-on, proactive and adaptable, ability to work in a changing environment
  • Experience in operational risk, enterprise risk, or GRC, in a superannuation environment with a working knowledge of Risk Management and Compliance Frameworks would be highly regarded.
