Job description

Our client, a global mining company, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Service Desk Engineer (Level 2/3) to join their growing team.

In this critical role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional technical support across our diverse IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations and maximising productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert technical support for switching, routing, networking, Microsoft, and Windows environments.
  • Proactively identify and resolve IT issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Perform software and hardware upgrades, ensuring systems remain up-to-date and secure.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service, building strong relationships with end-users across the organisation.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, providing after-hours support as needed.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in supporting network systems (switching, routing) and Microsoft Windows.
  • Strong background in performing software and hardware upgrades and installations.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Knowledge of IT security best practices
