Technical Writer
- Location: Canberra, ACT
- Security clearance: NV1
- Duration: ASAP up-to June 2025 with extension options
We are looking for a skilled Technical Brief Writer/Technical Writer to produce high-quality technical documentation that guides architectural decisions for executives and key stakeholders. This role requires working closely with a variety of stakeholders to produce and review content that meets current and future client needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce high-quality technical documentation to guide architectural decisions for executives and key stakeholders.
- Work alongside a wide variety of stakeholders in producing and reviewing content.
- Write clear and concise briefs/blueprints that explain complex technical and system solutions and the relevant decisions required to support their direction and implementation.
- Understand and translate strategic/technical information to DODAF/NAF frameworks.
- Ensure strategic alignment of the organisation through writing briefs, task tracking, executive reporting, and document quality control.
- Adapt to the dynamic environment of Defence and remain flexible to changing requirements.
- Maintain a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably within the Defence sector.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with various teams.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to understand and translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly content.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organisational skills.
- Familiarity with DODAF/NAF frameworks and strategic alignment processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a Defence environment.
- Knowledge of architectural decision-making processes.
- Familiarity with task tracking and executive reporting tools.
