Job description

Our client is a Queensland Government department and they are currently requiring a Business Analyst to join them on a contract through to June 2025. There are also 2 x 12 month extensions on offer. This is based in Carseldine with 50% work from home as the set policy.

Description:

The department is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to work within a project team in the Information Technology Branch (ITB). The Business Analyst role is required to facilitate the development of the Business and Functional Requirements Specifications for ITB project/s. Without a clear definition of business requirements, as input to the technical specifications, the quality and suitability of the end product will be compromised. The Business Analyst will document current state process, analyse business pain points and develop an optimised future state process that aligns with the business requirements. The Business Analyst will work closely with the Project Manager, Business Application owners and Information Technology owners.

Responsibilities:

  • Business Analysis Planning & Monitoring
  • Plan and document the business analysis approach, stakeholder analysis, business analysis activities, business analysis communication and requirements management processes.
  • Engage and consult with business stakeholders for analysis of business requirements, functional requirements, business change impacts.
  • Pro-actively manage the relationship with external implementation partners, in order to provide solutions that satisfy the business requirements.
  • Conduct business rules elicitation, document and confirm elicitation results and document business processes (As-Is and To-Be).
  • Requirements Management & Communications.
  • Proactively manage, prioritise and document business requirements and requirements traceability.
  • Document business requirements specification and progress business issues.
  • Specifications Development.
  • Document functional specification of requirements.
  • Document functional specification of interfaces.
  • Document Configuration requirements.
  • Other activities as directed by the Project Manager.
  • The role may have quarterly Key Performance Indicators to maintain.
  • Current and varied experience across public and private sector is highly desirable
