Job description

Our client is a large government department and they currently have a need for a Functional Analyst to join them on a 2 year contract with possible extensions on offer. This role is based in Brisbane CBD with flexible work from home on offer.

Presently, this department is actively engaged in two significant transformational programs. These programs share a common goal - to replace outdated systems and integrate contemporary technologies, all directed at enhancing business capabilities and aligning with customer-focused objectives. These initiatives are being overseen by the Enterprise Business Platforms Team, the same team responsible for managing the Microsoft Power Platform and Dynamics 365 environments.

To ensure the successful delivery of these critical projects, the department is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Functional Analyst. As a Functional Analyst, you will be responsible for analysing business requirements, designing and implementing Microsoft solutions, and providing ongoing support to end-users.

The Functional Analyst will support in the delivery of the program's multiple initiatives, adding business value by aligning objectives, scope, improvement opportunities and requirements. This position will play a critical role providing functional/technical analysis to support business as usual and to ensure successful 'build' of approved projects and minor enhancements from start to finish for all parts of the business.

Key Competencies:

  • Functional Expertise: Deep understanding of Microsoft Dynamics 365 modules and their applications in business processes.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to assess business requirements and translate them into functional solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Problem Solving: Proficient in identifying problems, analyzing solutions, and recommending improvements to enhance system performance.
  • Collaboration: Skilled at working in cross-functional teams, especially with developers, business users, and administrators.

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365, including system configuration and customization.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and configuring workflows, forms, and dashboards in Dynamics 365.
  • Experience with integrations and data migration to/from Dynamics 365.
  • Familiarity with Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate) is desirable.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Azure, and Dynamics 365 APIs is an advantage.
  • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Fundamentals (or equivalent certification) is preferred.
