Our client is a large government department based in Brisbane, and they currently have a need for a Network Security Engineer to join them on a contract through to June 2025 + possible extensions. This role is based in Brisbane CBD + flexible WFH on offer.
The role:
We have an opportunity for an experienced Security Operations Engineer with a strong background in Zscaler, support and maintenance to join our Brisbane based team. As Senior Security Engineer, you will provide development and support to strategic Network Security platforms including PKI, Firewalls, Load balancers, Proxy services, Endpoint Protection, and encryption.
Responsibilities:
- Delivery of security operations. Including but not limited to Support and Maintenance of on premise and cloud-based platforms, Incident Response and Resolution
- Provide technical leadership to drive, assist and contribute with investigations into potential solutions.
- Liaise with relevant technical experts and contribute to solution design, costing and specifications
- Provide mentoring and assist in building team capability though continuous knowledge sharing
- Ensure that council maintains a highly available, and highly secure network security platform across both internally and externally hosted environments
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience within a Network Security Operations role
* Minimum 3 years' experience working within, and supporting large enterprise environments
* CCNP, firewall, CIISP certifications highly regarded
* Extensive experience of the following:
- Next Gen Firewall
- PKI
- SSL
- Routing and Switching (Cisco)
- Proxy Services (Cloud Based)
- IPSEC VPN
- AWS, Azure (VPN, NSG)
- Web application firewall.
- Public Cloud Peering e.g. Megaport, express route,
- VMware (NSX highly desirable)
- Knowledge of Scripting/Automation
