Job description

Our client is a large government department and they have a current need for an SAP Principal Developer to join them on a contract initially through to end January 2025 + extensions on offer. This role is based in Brisbane CBD and will require office days + flexible WFH.

The Role:

This department's Revenue Management System (RMS) solution is based on an SAP S/4HANA system to ensure funds are managed in accordance with Queensland Government legislation, policy and audit requirements. The RMS system supports self-assessment and obligation management for individuals who are liable for taxes and royalties, supporting up to 100,000 individuals or companies interacting with the department.

The objective of the RMS S/4 HANA Upgrade Project is to upgrade the RMS from ERP Central Component (ECC) to S/4HANA and develop solutions to realise other business benefits by leveraging S/4HANA capabilities including Business Technology Platform (BTP) solution development.

The SAP Principal Developer will:

  • Develop OData services, build Fiori UI application and enhance standard applications
  • Support migration of SAP PI interfaces (On-Premise) to SAP Integration suite (transformation and associated developments)
  • Build operational reporting model and reports
  • Support S/4HANA solutions in SAP modules of Flexible Real Estate, and Tax Revenue Management, Public Sector Collections and Disbursements, GL accounting, and Embedded Customer Management

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role the following is required:

  • At least 10+ years of SAP development (ABAP, Fiori) experience
  • At least one end to end SAP implementation and 3-4 various SAP project delivery experience
  • Strong technical background in SAP solution GAP analysis, SAP custom development with various SAP frameworks in enhancements, data migrations, workflows, UI (User Interface) developments, Core Data Services (CDS) views, ODATA services, forms, and integration development areas
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to delivery solution designs together with SAP functional analysts and business analysts
