Job description

Senior Pega System Administrator

  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid
  • Contract Length: 8 months with potential for two 12-month extensions
  • Employer: Large federal government department
  • Location: Canberra, ACT

About the Role

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve technical incidents and problems.
  • Manage Pega installation and configurations.
  • Oversee Pega access control and deployed Pega applications.
  • Apply Pega hotfixes to the platform.
  • Liaise with external technical groups and provide technical advice as needed.
  • Evaluate new middleware software and updates, ensuring successful installation and maintenance in collaboration with stakeholders and external clients.
  • Advise Project/Program Managers on middleware technical and procedural issues.
  • Support application transition to service activities as required.
  • Contribute to the development of SDLC deliverables, including solution architecture documents, interface control documents, and detailed design documents.

Essential Criteria:

  1. Proven experience in implementing solutions using various software and technologies, including but not limited to WebSphere Application Suite, Tomcat, Web servers, RedHat Linux, MQ, Postgres SQL, and UNIX.
  2. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively translate between business and technical teams.
  3. Demonstrated experience in a BAU capacity for an enterprise solution, supporting multiple stakeholders from both business and technical teams.
  4. Prior experience and/or knowledge of the department's ICT governance and delivery frameworks, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.

Eligibility: Due to the nature of the role, Australian citizenship with Baseline clearance is required.
