Systems Analyst
Location: Canberra, ACT
Job Type: Contract (7 months with 3x6 extension)
Security Clearance: NV1 (or willing to obtain)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Systems Analyst to join a dynamic program team responsible for delivering a whole-of-government information-sharing environment. This program enables real-time criminal intelligence and information access across state, territory, and federal jurisdictions.

As a Systems Analyst, you will work closely with multiple stakeholders across various government agencies, contributing to complex systems analysis tasks. You will play a key role in improving business functions and developing systems analysis artefacts, working in a highly collaborative Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop systems analysis artefacts to support business decision-making
  • Examine business problems and determine requirements for new or enhanced information systems
  • Participate in Program Increment Planning, daily standups, and sprint reporting
  • Provide expert advice on systems analysis methods, tools, and processes
  • Build and sustain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage and mentor other Systems Analysts within the team
  • Create system requirements, technical documents, and source-to-target mapping
  • Represent the work area at relevant meetings and forums
  • Undertake interstate travel as required

Must have:

  • Demonstrated experience in systems and business analysis, particularly in Agile environments
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills
  • Experience in writing detailed technical documents (system specifications/user stories)
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with senior stakeholders

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience with Elastic, Kibana, Hbase, Hadoop, or Nifi
  • Experience with SQL, data mapping, and ETL projects
  • Experience working in National Intelligence, National Security, Defence, or Policing sectors
  • Tertiary ICT qualifications or equivalent experience
