Role Overview:
This permanent position offers a unique opportunity to support and manage critical control systems and Layer 3 networks across multiple mining operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Management & Troubleshooting: Deliver Level 3 support for fixed and wired networks, troubleshooting and resolving issues onsite and between multiple sites.
- Configuration & Updates: Configure, patch, and update Layer 2/3 networks, ensuring seamless operation and high availability.
- OT Network & Critical Systems Support: Support critical control systems with a focus on OT (Operational Technology) networks and Process Control Networks (PCN). Experience with SCADA systems or other industrial control networks is advantageous.
- Network Security: Implement firewalls, monitor for security breaches, manage change control processes, and ensure backup systems are in place.
- Technology & Vendor Expertise: Work primarily within Cisco and Fortinet environments, with responsibilities across VPN, MPLS, SD-WAN, and other key networking protocols.
About You:
- Qualifications: Minimum CCNA/CCNP Wired qualifications required.
- Experience: Prior experience in mining and SCADA is preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of OT networks and PCNs is a strong asset.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Cisco and Fortinet routing and switching, and familiarity with VPN, MPLS, SD-WAN, and Layer 2/3 network technologies.
- Work Requirements: Based in Brisbane, with some potential for site travel depending on issue resolution needs.
